Savana King
Savana King BS’18

Savana King BS’18 is a doctoral candidate in human factors psychology. Her research at Clemson University uses principles of visual perception to help solve transportation issues, such as reducing pedestrian and bicyclist fatalities. She has also aided in vehicle automation research for Honda Motor Co. and the Department of Transportation. Currently, she is an engineering psychologist student trainee at the Volpe Center, and in the fall she will continue to teach a course at Clemson on applied psychology and transportation.
Katie Austin
Katie Austin MS’20, PhD’21

Katie Austin MS’20, PhD’21 is a user experience researcher at Meta where she leads the design and execution of quantitative and qualitative research projects, and works closely with partners in design, engineering, and product to advocate for Facebook users. While at UTD, she was a member of Dr. Heidi Kane’s Close Relationships and Health Lab, served as a TA for both undergraduate and graduate statistics courses, and was awarded the President’s Teaching Excellence Award for Teaching Assistants. Her dissertation focused on the use of affectionate touch in close relationships and its connection to health and coping behaviors. Prior to attending UTD, she received a BA in psychology from Creighton University. She currently resides in Seattle, Washington.
